welcome back!

With the summer of 2023 coming to a close, young people of all ages headed back to school recently.  And this was no different for the hundreds of students enrolled in OLV Human Services’ (OLVHS) five different school programs.

The goal of our education division is to provide specialized, high quality educational programming for students with and without disabilities across Western New York. Students (Pre-K through 12th grade) are served in five unique schools, all focused on blending academic and social/emotional support.

  • Youngsters at our early education sites, Monarch Little Learners’ Academy and St. John’s Parkside, kissed their parents goodbye, many for the first time.
  • Older students returned to their desks at Baker Academy and our ITP schools.
  • And our Baker Hall School students strapped on their backpacks, some for the last time.

Regardless of the setting, teachers and support staff across our programs are ready to be back in the classroom, too!  Mrs. Szewczyk at St. John’s Parkside said it best: “If you remember back to your first day of school as a child, teachers experience that same feeling of new possibilities, new discoveries, new adventures, and new relationships they’re going to form.”

We can’t wait to see what this year brings for all our students!
