Intensive treatment program

The Intensive Treatment Program (ITP) is an Office of Mental Health (OMH) licensed Residential Treatment Facility treating youth between the ages of 12-17 years old, who are eligible for Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and OPWDD waiver services.  These individuals have an Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Intellectual Disability Disorder and a mental health diagnosis that have resulted in functional limitations over the past 12 months.  As a result, these individuals exhibit emotional dysregulation and recurring safety risks, such as aggression, self-injury, or property destruction.

Those in this population require subacute inpatient hospitalization or 24/7 medical clinical level of care that is not currently offered anywhere in New York State.

The ITP is located in BVS' new state-of-the-art Residential Treatment Facility located in Lackawanna, New York.
