Intensive Preventive Services
The primary goal of the Intensive Preventive Services Program is to provide casework services and direct therapeutic services to reduce or avoid the need for foster care for children who are in imminent danger of such placements. Caseworkers strive to stabilize and strengthen the family unit by providing at least half of their services in the family’s home and by being available to the family 24 hours a day. These services include, but are not limited to counseling, parent training, home management, housing assistance, support and advocacy services. Workers focus on no more than four families at any given time. Intensive Preventive Services are limited to 8- 12 weeks.
