The Parent Advisory Board
at BVS.
Established in 1995, the Parent Advisory Board of Baker Victory Services (BVS) serves as a bridge between the administration of BVS and the clients, families, and/or guardians. It is the mission of the Parent Advisory Board (PAB) to maintain an active and visible role representing the needs of all groups.
It is the PAB's desire to form the right kind of partnerships to ensure that our children develop, thrive and have the ability to: live independently, contribute to society, enjoy self-determination, make choices, and enjoy maximum integration into the economic, societal, cultural and educational mainstream.
In doing so, the PAB at
Baker Victory Services has accomplished much:
Why is there a PAB?
The administration at BVS felt a need to better communicate with
its parents. The group functions as a bridge between parents/caregivers
and the staff at BVS.
What is meant by "representing
us?"
If you are uncomfortable about going to the staff/administration,
the PAB is here to act on your behalf, to be your voice. If you
have a problem or concern about the services your child is receiving,
of if you have a suggestion, the PAB will ensure that you are
heard.
Is it required to go
through the PAB?
No. You should explore whatever avenue is most comfortable.
Will my concerns/questions
be treated with respect/confidentiality?
Yes. The PAB respects all issues, keeping them confidential unless
requested otherwise.
Can I just call and talk
about generalities? It'd be nice to share my experiences!
Absolutely! We welcome any/all calls.
How can I join the PAB?
Simply call 828-9515 or email us at baker@buffnet.net.
