Domestic Adoptions at BVS

Baker Victory Services has a long history of providing adoption services, dating back to 1906. Domestic Adoptions are an integral part of the adoption program. Our responsibilities primarily involve the placement of children surrendered to us. These children, more often than not, are healthy Caucasian newborn infants generally released directly from the hospital after birth to the loving arms of their adoptive parents. We also place toddler, bi-racial and African-American infants and children, including teens in our care, when they are available.

At this time, the wait for a Caucasian infant is unpredictable, as the birth parents generally request profiles of waiting adoptive parents and select the family they feel is best to meet the needs of the child. However, generally speaking, most families receive a child in approximately 2 – 2 ½ years. The waiting time for bi-racial and African-American children varies, but is often less than that of a Caucasian youth. More information follows:

Ages of Children Available:

Newborn infants; children 12+ and in Baker Victory’s Care

Parent's Age & Married:

Parents must be 18 or older
Couples married for at least one year.

Divorce:

Accepted.

Children in Family:

Accepted.

Post-Placement:

2 post-placement visits are required.

Waiting Time:

Varies due to birth parent involvement in the selection process, but generally 2 – 3 years
