Domestic Adoptions at BVS

In recent years, the number of U.S.-born children available for adoption has declined sharply. Still, Domestic Adoptions are an important part of what we do here at Baker Victory Services. Our responsibilities primarily involve the placement of children surrendered to us. These children, more often than not, are healthy caucasian infants between three and six months of age of the Roman Catholic faith. We also place toddler, bi-racial and African-American children when they are available.

At this time, the wait for a caucasian infant is approximately 3-5 years from the time of parents' initial application date. The waiting time for bi-racial and African-American children varies, but is often less than that of a caucasian youth. More information follows:

Domestic Adoption (Caucasian)

Ages of Children Available:

Three weeks to six months old.

Parent's Age & Married:

Parents must be 18 or older ... Couples married for at least one year.

Divorce:

Accepted.

Children in Family:

Accepted.

Post-Placement:

Three post-placement visits are required.

Waiting Time:

Approximately 3-5 years.

Domestic Adoption (Bi-Racial)

Ages of Children Available:

Three weeks to six months old.

Parent's Age & Married:

Parents must be 18 or older ... Couples married for at least one year.

Divorce:

Accepted.

Children in Family:

Accepted.

Post-Placement:

Three post-placement visits are required.

Waiting Time:

Currently, the waiting time is three to four years.
