Adoption Services

We have developed a comprehensive approach to adoptions. Some of the services and programs we offer:

Home Study

Consultation and decision-making counseling.
Immigration-approved home study.
Child Abuse Registry and NYS Criminal History clearance.
Notarization of documents.
Assistance with the immigration process.

Post-Placement Supervision

Court-approved NYS re-adoption.
Proof of citizenship.
Social Security registration.
Post-placement home visits.
Reports to the country of origin.
Referral for Supportive Services, including Early Intervention.

“Summer Victories” and the BVS Host-to-Adopt Program

BVS became aware of the plight of older children languishing in orphanages in need of permanent loving families. We began our “Summer Victories” program to assist children from Russia, Ukraine and Colombia in finding their “forever families.”  This unique program brings older orphaned children, usually from ages 8 to 14, to the United States to experience life with an American family. The children generally arrive the first week of July, and return at the end of the month. 

Similarly, BVS is working with FANA in Bogota, Colombia for our Host-to-Adopt program. All families interested in participating in the program would have a completed agency home study and training prior to the arrival of the children and families have the option of requesting sibling groups.  Baker Victory Services’ staff and our partners at FANA make every effort to match families and children based on the home study and profiles of the children.

Around-the-clock support for these programs is provided by the social work and coordination team while the children are here and weekly support meetings and activities are planned.  At the end of their stay, the children must return and families may then apply to adopt them.  Baker Victory Services will assist you with the entire adoption process, making it as simple and enjoyable as possible.
