Helping women in trouble has been another keystone of the organization dating back to 1906. When Father Nelson Baker opened the OLV Infant Home, he did so to offer women-in-need and their babies a sanctuary. Today, Adoption Counseling remains one of our most critical roles.

In our program, trained counselors are available to help women. Trained staff members provide support, help sort out the strong emotions and assist in deciding on a plan for the child. It is important to us to provide knowledge, privacy, and assistance in a confidential, pressure-free environment. Some of our Counseling Services include...

• Confidential individual, couple, or family counseling.
• Support and decision-making counseling.
• Referrals to appropriate medical care and/or insurance coverage.
• If desired, temporary placement with a resource family until a decision has been made.
• Expedient adoption placement.
• Birth parent involvement in the selection of an adoptive family.
• The opportunity to receive pictures and letters from that family after placement.
